Release Note: April 2010
As mentioned previously I’ve stopped tracking version numbers. This post highlights a few of the features that went live about a week ago.

Blog Friendly MobDeal Widget
This has been one of the most requested pieces of code in a long time. A lot of you like the main MobDeal widget but wanted something that would fit into a standard blog sidebar (The main one is MREC sized).
Well Chris pulled the current widget to bits, squashed all the elements down as small as he could and put it back together.
You can configure it for yourself and get the source code here. If you have any problems please do email us or use the feedback forms on the site (we may not be able to fix it but we’ll try).
Answer Comments
Questions & Answers have been a great success this year but when we launched we left something out – comments. In the case where an answer merited a bit of feedback the only way to add to the conversation was to post an additional answer which was confusing things a bit. So now if you’re feeling inclined to feed back on an answer just hit the “Add a comment” button.
Leads / Bookings in the Extranet

On the Extranet menu we’ve added a new section called “Sales”. You can now access all leads and bookings that have been made on the site in the last year at any time.
Both Leads and Bookings have a few simple flags to help you manage them. Rather than go into both in detail I’ve shown just the lead list below. Each line in the list is clickable through to the booking or lead shown. This is the same lead and booking details page that opens up from the confirmation emails we send.

We’re gradually adding a lot more functionality into this area to enable you (if you’re a supplier) to manage your interactions with Wahanda customers as easily as possible. If you have some ideas on how we can improve it please do let us know.
Release Numbers

From this release I’m going to stop using release numbers on the TechBlog as the connection between “release”, “release number”, “version number”, “api version” etc. doesn’t seem to have the greatest sense of coherence in our environment.
I try and write a release note at the end of each development cycle. Sometimes I don’t get time. Sometimes we release in the middle of a cycle and it doens’t make sense. Sometimes we don’t release the site at all in a cycle but release something else (like an external widget or a mobile version). When we were building our MobDeal product we ran through 4 dev cycles in short succession without doing a release at all. So I don’t really know what a release number is.
Also this means I avoid the ribbing from the developers when I can’t remember what the site release number is (Hey, I’m a Dev Manager. I think in iterations!).

Post coming later this week to talk about the exciting new features we launched at the tail end of last week including:
- Blog Friendly MobDeals Widget
- Q&A Comments
- Extranet Mgt. for Bookings and Leads
tech.wahanda.com
This morning at Wahanda we launched a new site to host all things technical!
The site can be found at tech.wahanda.com and is where we’re going to put publish all of the work we’re doing on standard API’s, status updates, Widgets and even this blog (we’ll merge it in).
The piece we’ve built in detail and launched today is the ability to build customised widgets.
To get a widget for your site follow these easy steps:
- Simple choose Widgets from the menu.
- Select the one you’re interested in.
- Choose the parameters that best suit you
- Enter your affiliate code (if you have one)
- Take your code!
If want to sign up with us directly as an affiliate (to get a code) then contact us at partners@wahanda.com.
We’ll be adding a lot to this site over the next few weeks so keep watching.
