It’s been a while since I posted a full release notice. Mainly this has been an oversight rather than a lack of new features appearing. A lot of the work has been around the MobDeal space which is going crazy at the moment in the UK but is less exciting to talk about as it’s been small incremental improvements rather than big new shiny things.
Anyway, I’ve picked 4 things that we launched this week to highlight. Hopefully they will be of interest.
Q & A Improvements
We launched our question and answer feature towards the end of last year and have had a great response from the community. Therapists especially have been very keen to help out with detailed answers on a whole range of issues.
Of course one of the problems with a model that works is that people can find a way to use it to their advantage at the cost of the community as a whole. One of these problems has been the ability for a questioner to select every single treatment in the system. This results in us sending an email to all practitioners signed up to Q&A regardless of whether or not they have the treatment as one of their specialties. In the latest release we’ve added a new restriction that allows a maximum of 5 treatments only. We’re now working on additional controls that will enable us to filter out unwanted questions earlier in the process and help clean up the notifications further.
One of the benefits of being actively involved in the Wahanda community for Practitioners is more visibility around the site. Posting reviews, answering questions and other activities should mean you get recognition. We’ve lined up a whole load of exciting new stuff for the next release to help you get noticed but in the last release we did at least start showing how many questions and answers you’ve added.

Extranet Menus
This is probably one of the most requested features we’ve had from our suppliers in the last 12 months. Those of you with an enhanced listing should have a full treatment menu for each venue you manage. So far these have had to be entered by our crack team of venue content managers at Wahanda and as fast as they are there has always been a bit of a delay getting them done.
We put off adding this to the extranet up until now simply because it can be a complicated process and we wanted to get it right. So after a good solid 2 weeks of effort from Chris and Oli we’ve got the first iteration of this live. It’s still a little rough round the edges and we’ve already identified a number of improvements but this does mean you can manage the entire range of treatments you provide yourself for the first time.

Each service you offer can be defined separately with a description and various prices based on things like duration.

We are adding some new features to the menus over the next month so if there are things you would like to be able to upload but can’t at present let us know and we can see if they’re in the pipeline (If they’re not we’ll try and add them!).
New Treatment Structure
As part of generally improving usability we have completely reorganised our treatment structure. This was mainly geared around making things easier to find for users but does impact on how you set yourself up if you’re a practitioner or a venue.
We now have 9 top level categories which are themselves divided into 3 classes.

If you notice anything that looks like it’s in the wrong place please let us know and we’ll get it moved.
